Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at guamislandfruittrees@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

  • We offer over 100 varieties of mango trees.  You may view them on the various tabs on our website. Local, Established Varieties, New Varieties 2025

  • The varieties we offer are fiberless; we do not propagate varieties that we consider "dental floss" mangoes.

  • Unfortunately, we do not currently offer online ordering. However, you can call us or visit our nursery to place an order.

  • We do not guarantee or promise any time frame for the tree to bear fruit because of external factors that contribute to the overall health of the plant, such as: soil conditions, weather, or personal care for the plant.  In optimal conditions, however, a grafted plant is expected to bear fruit within a 5-year time frame.

  • "Established Varieties" refers to mango varieties from around the world.  These are mango varieties that you can Google for additional information. We have named mango varieties from places like Florida, Hawaii, Thailand, and Jamaica.

  •  "Named Varieties We Have Acquired and Named" are mango varieties unique to Guam.  These are mangoes that we have found to be sweet, fiberless, and worth propagating.  We have named them after the individual who either planted the tree, or who owns the tree.  For example, our "Cecilia" mango was named after the founder of GIFT's grandmother, because she planted and owned the tree/variety since 1955.

  • Yes! If you are not prepared or ready to plant your tree into the ground, you may choose to keep it in the pot, or you can transplant it into a larger container.  Remember, you must still water the tree.

  • Guam Island Fruit Trees is located in Santa Rita-Sumai, Guam.  Visits to our nursery are by appointment only.

  • The grafted mango trees we sell, unless otherwise stated or directed, are mature plants that are ready to be planted into the ground.  You do not need to wait any longer or keep them in the pot for any additional time after purchasing.
